Fast Foods: It's Impacts on human health
Eating food is the most important thing to keep humans alive. In the old-time people were accepting more home-based foods. But as time has shifted the food era is also shifted. And the era of fast food is going on.
In the 21st century, the pace of life is fast and it has become virtually impossible to eat the proper 3-4 meal pattern which was traditionally acccpeted. Now the emphasis or focus is shifted on snacks. As they are less time consuming and they complete all the need of a meal. So between meals are now shifted on snacks, and the snack which is more popular nowadays are fast foods.
A "fast food" can be defined as food that can be prepared quickly and easily and is sold in restaurants and snack bars as a quick meal or to is taken out.
Nowadays, several small wholesome meals are eaten by teenagers. Pizzas, hamburgers, noodles are some of the western fast foods which have become popular in the metropolitan cities of the country like India.
There have been substantial increases in mean body weight in wealthy countries and even developing countries.
These changes have been accompanied by a dramatic transformation in people's dietary patterns, most importantly, an increase in the consumption of ultra-processed foods, including fast foods.
However, we are not new to the concept of fast foods. Idlis, dosas, meduwadas, chaats, chole bature and many there food items were always served in the restaurant. Wadapav is the latest, largest, and cheapest fast food available in the street of India.
Many people in the urban areas prefer fast food since they are relatively low cost in food purchased, less time consuming and they find it convenient.
Although some feel that fast food consumption has played a negligible role in the obesity epidemic, and some studies also have suggested that it is actually the opposite.
It has been seen that a person who consumes fast food restaurant more than twice a week, gained significant weight. This study tells, that there is a significant relation between fast food and weight gained.
Along with fast food, the beverages which are high in sugar also consumed by the people in large amount and they are also the main reason of obesity.
Now, what harm can your body suffer from fast food consumption when you eat more amount.
1. High salt content you can see in the fast-food
Fast food is high in salt content. As the product like bread, biscuits, fried items are high in salt and the addition of salt in the patty, vegetables, and other food items make them rich in salt.
If a diet is high in sodium and a person eating it frequently can cause diseases of the heart in the future. Condition like high blood pressure and other heart disease can be developed. And if a person is ready to have high blood pressure then it is very dangerous for them to eat such things. The bottom line is to try to avoid them as possible.
2. High fat you can easily see in the fast-food
Many food items we eat outside are deep-fried like fried chicken, french fries, fritters. And even if they are not deep-fried the use of fat will be high in foods like pizzas, sandwiches, burgers, rolls.
This fat is contributing you to become overweight or obese. They also lead you to some heart disease. As we all know that obesity is the primary step of many diseases. And if staying in perfect weight according to your body then the disease is not going to attack you. Try to avoid them.
3. Learning, attention span, and memory problem you might feel after consumption of fast foods
There are some research studies that have given evidence, the teenagers and the people who eat more fast food suffer from the condition like they will have less attention span, their memory also has impacted, they find difficult to remember certain things and some also feel difficulty in learning new things.
4. A Large amount of cholesterol in fast foods
The other issue about fast food is cholesterol. Many people found their cholesterol levels are high and they also eat fast food very often. High cholesterol contributes to many diseases of the heart.
5. Sugar beverages content are high in fast foods
Along with sodium, fat the other concerning point is sugar. As there is a high amount of sugar in beverages. As we all know sugar contributes to overweight and obesity. Obesity is going to suffer you from other things also.
6. Obesity is the main concern after eating fast food
Many researchers have said that people eating fast food are prone to overweight and obesity.
As many children and teenagers are the target age eating for fast food. Along with them the person who are doing the job and their main works are while seating. These are some age group who develops overweight or obesity in the future.
Fast food can be considered to be nutritious food. It should be cautioned here that fast food should be eaten only once in a while. If not supplemented with a balanced diet, they could prove to be recipes for disaster. A portion of fast food can never replace a good, wholesome meal.
The bottom line is to eat very few amounts of fast food if you want, but if you want to look healthy then do not eat fast food for your body.
The alternative for fast is home-based snacks which are less in fat, sugar sodium along with that they are having a good amount of protein, carbohydrates, fiber.
Some snacks idea which you can also pack in tiffin for your work or give to children. Puffed rice or rice flakes chiwada with groundnut, apple, guava, banana, orange, egg sandwich, vegetable sandwich, cheese roll, paneer roll, spinach roll, fruit milkshake, dhokla, rava uttapam, rava dosa, idli, yogurt, sprout salad with fruits and vegetables and fruit salad.
If you eat food in a proper way then they going to make your body perfect, healthy, and make you better.
