Healthy life: Which food should include?

Food is the basic necessity of life. Without food, there is no life. Everybody eats food and most people enjoy it. But do you look after your health while enjoying food? For many people, the answer will be No!!

Because all we want is good food. And we also think that we have to compromise, either we will get a taste or we will get health. But have you thought that it can be a combination of both?

We all live in the 21st century, where everything is possible you just have to find it.

Let me explain you to how you can develop the perfect food habit throughout the year or in your daily life.

1. Routine

Our body can adapt to changes, but it has its own biological clock adapted to our daily routine and changes with the seasons.

Once you have conditioned your body to a certain routine, it is necessary to maintain it. Regularity in maintaining your routine presents certain advantages in determining regular sleeping habits, elimination habits, and eating meals or foods at a particular time.

Most people who suffer from sleeplessness or constipation don't listen to the biological clock.

Following a routine is the best thing if you implement it in your life.

2. Eat fresh and natural foods

As everyone is now turning towards the natural way for foods. and the reason is they are less in cost, filled with lots of nutrition and they don't have any side effects.

Most natural foods are more nutritious than their preserved counterparts. For example, a glass of lemon juice/ lemonade is more nutritious than flavored lemon juices we get from the market.

Coloured, flavored added, and artificial foods are always a question mark for whether to eat it.

As we get food items like vegetables and fruits. We wash them, and for vegetables, we do cook them on high flames or at high temperature, in that way we make them micro-organism-free. We also cook them, make them softer in texture, and easily chew and easy to digest.

If you like gardening, then making your kitchen garden is the best way for you. You can grow your choice's food and the benefits are your children will also love it. It is one of the best options to develop good habits for your kids.

So next time go for natural instead of processed foods.

3. Seasonal variation

Changes in the seasons have a tremendous impact on our body and this affects our health.

If the diet is modified according to the climatic changes, our body suffers minimum shock and adapts very easily to seasonal variations.

In summer, since sweat loss is much more than that in the winter, one must consume more water, fluid, electrolytes for staying hydrated. The addition of fat and carbohydrates in the winter then they play a role in providing heat to the body.

4.. Eat but do not overeat

Eating 3 proper meals and 1-2 snacks or according to the disease, the condition should be planned. But overeating is always going to make a problem for the body.

As ayurvedic practice has said, a meal should be eaten at the right time with the right amount.

Good health can be maintained if at any given meal one does not overeat, be it a snack or a dinner.

Bad habits like eating while watching TV, talking, or reading can result in overeating. In fact, very little amounts of overeating daily can lead to overweight or obesity-like conditions.

5. Avoid excessive salt and spices

Anything that is done in moderation cannot harm the body, but a slight excess every day can be harmful to the body in the long term.

A simple example is a salt, a substance whose daily intake varies from person to person. Salt which contains large amounts of sodium must be carefully handled, more so by people who have a tendency towards high blood pressure. Clinically, a definite correlation has been established between sodium and hypertension.

Table salt is the main source of sodium. To avoid consuming too much sodium, a small amount of salt should be used while cooking and only a little salt may be used at the table to avoiding the table at salt is the way.

Try to learn to enjoy the flavor of foods without salt by discrete use of lime juice, black pepper powder, coriander, any spice used in the foods. Very spicy foods must be avoided since they are harmful to the delicate lining of the gastrointestinal tract.

6. Avoid excessive consumption of sweets, especially processed sugar

Excessive consumption of sweets must be avoided. Sucrose has been proved to be one of the causative agents of dental caries.

Fresh fruits should be preferred to canned fruits. Consumption of concentrated sugar sources like jam, jellies, and other sweet dishes like barfi, laddoo, gulab jamun, jalebi, rasgula, etc.

7. Eat foods that contain adequate carbohydrates, especially starch and fiber

Consumptions of complex carbohydrates, such as starches present in cereals, are more advisable than that of the simpler sugars found in honey, fruits, table sugars, and milk. This is because the digestion of the complex sugars is relatively slower than that of the simpler ones.

The fiber in the diet lowers blood cholesterol. Avoidance of fiber or consumption of a fiber-free diet has proved to be a definite cause of rectal disorders, poor bowel habits, colon cancer, and chronic constipation.

8. Avoid foods that contain large amounts of fat, cholesterol, and saturated fats

This can be achieved by eating moderately, foods rich in cholesterol, such as meat, fish, poultry, organ meats and eggs, vegetable oils may be used. Controlled consumption of sweetmeat prepared in pure ghee, butter and vanaspati are necessary. It is essential to restrict the consumption of fried foods and high sugar foods.

Only moderate consumption of these foods is the key to good health.

These are the nutrients and food options you should include in your diet, for healthy life and a healthy body. I hope this article will be helpful for you.

Stay healthy, stay safe.
