I always wonder being vegetarian is the best thing, but many people don't agree on this topic. Because many people are now turning into non-vegetarians and what they thought is people like us (vegetarians) are really missing something from their life. So today's post is about Vegetarians. If you want to start the diet of vegetarian and you are already vegetarians, some modifications do require. So here are some useful tips you can add to your lifestyle.

Vegetarians are the people who only eat plant-origin foods. Like they will only eat the food is coming from the plant. They will not eat any animal-based products and yeah there are some types in vegetarian diets. 

Pure vegetarians or we also called them Vegans: This diet following people will only eat plant-based food and they will not drink the milk also. And that is why they are also known as strict vegetarians. 

Ovalacto-vegetarians: We also called them egg plus vegetarians. This diet follows people eat plant-based foods along with milk. And they also eat eggs also. This diet also many people follow. 

Lacto-vegetarians: This type of vegetarian is the most common type of vegetarians. They include all plant-based foods along they will only add dairy products and milk also. 

If you want to start a vegetarian diet then you should keep it in mind. Here helpful tips for you.  

1. Reduce all high-calorie, low-nutrient density foods like soft drinks, carbonated beverages, canned drinks. Such foodstuffs will give you empty calories. And there also other factors such as high in sugar, less in fiber, and sometimes they also cause problems in digestion. So for this, the other option you can try is unrefined foods which give you calories and plus they are also rich in nutrients. 

2. The other concern will always be about protein. Many people thought that vegetarians will be deficient in protein. But there are options for vegetarians also. For the replacement of meat, you can have legumes, all types of nuts, and seeds. Many people don't believe this but actually, it is true that legumes also provide a good amount of proteins. 

3. The other option is you can increase the whole grain products like pasta, bread, chapatis, legumes, and nuts. This all will help you to maintain a good amount of protein as well as energy. That is how you can maintain major nutrients in your diet. 

4. Along with legumes and grains, fiber is also important. We can get fiber from vegetables and fibers. There are many benefits of eating fibers like high in fiber and helps you in the digestion process, also high in vitamins and minerals, gives you better immune health. And there are many other things also. 

5. For Vitamin D, exposure to the sun is also important. Because Vitamin D sources are animal-based but the requirement of Vitamin D is also important in bone health also. So also look for Vitamin D also. 

6. Always remember that you should keep an eye on your weight. According to your height, weight should be managed. Always look after your weight. 

7. For energy purposes, using sweeteners like honey, jaggery, sugar, and margarine can be helpful and oil should be used in shortenings. But do remember that you should use them in a limited amount. Because use of more of them can also lead you to obesity and which is not good. 

8. Always choose homemade and fresh food options. Don't go for processed foods. 

9. If you are choosing vegetarian foods then keep in mind that give your child a good amount of calcium sources. You can have them through the milk and green leafy vegetables. vegetable like drumsticks is high in calcium.

10. You can also choose options like grains with milk or egg. In this way, you will have a good amount of energy, carbohydrates from grains and proteins. 

11. For iron the best sources you can have green leafy vegetables. As there are seasonal vegetables are best options. Other options you can have are dates or flour-like bajra (pearl millet). 

12. For zinc you can have whole grains, nuts, leagues are the best options. As zinc is also needed for growth in children. So zinc sources should be added to your diet in this way. 

13. Vitamin needs can become from whole grains, unpolished rice, wheat, and millets. 

But remember one thing normal amount is always good but excess can be harmful. So keep in mind go for a normal portion size doesn't consume more amount.
