The show started on September 10, 2009 - March 10, 2017. 

The cast: Ian Somerhalder, Paul Wesley, Nina Dobrev, Candice King, Zach Roerig, Matt Devis, Kat Graham, Michael Malarkey, Joseph Morgan, Danieli Gillies, Phoebe Tonkin, Michael Trevino, Claire Holt, Chris Wood. These are not the only people who worked but some people were in Vampire Diaries and did a great job. 

There is a total of 8 seasons of the vampire diaries. It is based on the book series named The Vampire Diaries by L.J. Smith and J.L. Miller. 

Season 1: There are 22 episodes in the season.

The story revolves around the main character Elena Gilbert. She Has recently lost her parents after the summer she goes to school. Before the summer she also had a breakup with her boyfriend Matt. Later when she joins school there was someone new student admission in the school. Elena also has to look after her little brother Jeremy who was developing some bad habits recently. As he was still in grief about his parents. 

The latter episode will show how the introduction of Elena Gilbert and Stefan Salvatore has done. The friendship of Bonnie Bennett, Caroline Forbes, and Elena is something else. There was also the entry of Damon Salvatore who is the older brother of Stefan. 

The season continues with ups and downs with Stefan and Elena. But their friendship was also growing. But she also finds out about the truth of Stefan that he is a VAMPIRE. The past with Katherine and Salvator's brother also appears. 

Overall the first season was very nice, It keeps you entertained. As there is the humor of Damon, the caring side of Stefan, Elena was finding the truth, Bonnie was there with her and Caroline was perfect as always. 

Season 2: There is a total of 22 episodes in this season. 

The story continues as the separation of couple Stefan and Elena were separated. Elena also takes the decision not to lose her humanity and doesn't want to become Vampire. The interest which was created in this season was the triangle between the three main lead. As both brothers have different characters and perspectives, they were trying their best with Elena. 

The most loved character in vampire diaries was also Klaus. The entrance of Klause in this season as he managed to break the curse. Klaus is the original Vampire and he is also Werewolf. It means he is a hybrid. As we all know the Werewolf bite can kill a Vampire as he is having both the power. He is also one of the strong people in vampire diaries. 

There were also episodes of how caroline deals with her vampire life because Katherine turns her into a Vampire. Aunt Jena also finds out the truth about Vampire and Jermy also joins the team of her sister. The entrance of vampire hunter Alaric was also in this season. 

The season overall was nice, interesting and it will keep you entertained for sure. 

Season 3: The episode count of this season is 22.

This season is most focused on Klaus. As he made his hybrid team. On the other hand another original Vampire along with his mother also trying to kill him. The Love triangle between Elena, Damon, and Stefan continues.  Jeremy finds out that he can see the ghost and has a new ability or new power. 

The other member of the Original family of Vampire Elijah also returns in this season. The Damon and Elena relation also grows in these episodes and Stefan also left Mystic Falls for some time. Stefan also becomes darker. 

The overall season was good, the bond growing, Jeremy was also interacting with a ghost, The origin family drama. The overall season was nice and filled with entertainment. 

Season 4: There are 23 episodes in this season. 

As this season continues, Elena becomes a vampire. The time was hard for Elena, as Damon was telling her to feed the Blood and On the other hand, Stefan was telling her not to drink human blood, animal blood was the better option. Tyler also becomes a hybrid, he also allows his friend to kill him to save others. 

In this season, The Miss Mystic Fall Pageant is back and Elena and bonnie are helping April. There is also the epic scene of Klaus bringing the dresses for caroline. In this season, there are also many mixed-up feelings, jealousy, the family returning, and many other things that happen. 

This is season is also nice to watch and the interest was on high throughout the season. 

Season 5: The total episode of this season is 22. 

In this season, The starting of freshman year of college becomes. The hard time was for Stefan as he was trying to come from hallucination. After restarting the life of Stefan, everyone tries to recall his past with them. But somehow, Stefan finds Caroline most trustworthy, and he finds comfort with her. 

Elena also finds out hard the truth about Bonnie's health. Damon and Jeremy also looking for a way to came back the bonnie. Katherine also came for help from Caroline. The famous Silas and Amara also came in this season. Katherine is also dying so she focusing on finding a cure. 

In the final episode, everyone is trying to bring back Stefan. The season-ending was quite awesome and really satisfying. 

Season 6: There is a total of 22 episodes in this season. 

This season is quite emotional. As Elena was not able to deal with the demon's death so she chooses not to let go of Demon. She also started to take drugs so she can see Damon. Later she goes to Alaric for help. Enzo is also after Stefan as he also killed his girlfriend Ivy. 

The other famous character Kai also there in this season. With Bonnie and Damon, he tries to tell them what is the way of escaping. Damon gets out of that trap but Bonnie locked herself with Kai. Later the season continues to find the way to bring back Bonnie. Jeremy gets to graduate from college, bonnie also has her magic back. 

You will also see the bad side or off humanity of Stefan and Caroline. This season was quite enjoyable with all this stuff. 

Season 7: 22 episodes are in this season. 

As everyone was busy doing their stuff. Alaric, Bonnie, and Damon are staying in Europe. Matt, Caroline, and Stefan are looking for Lily how to deal with her. 

As there was a lot happened in this season. The pst haunted Damon so he left. As Stefan and other people have to deal with it. Also, Damon came back to save his brother and friends. 

Also, the sweet moment of Friendship you will see in this season along with the role of mother Caroline with her twin daughter is another level of cuteness. I can't tell you how thrilled this season is. It is one of the best seasons. 

Season 8: The last season contains 16 episodes. 

Now the No humanity Damon and Enzo are uncontrollable. They just go killing people. Stefan and Bonnie also try to talk with them but these guys are in no control. On Christmas night Stefan drinks too much blood and enjoying his day. 

As matt's mother also came back to mystic falls. Later it was also cleared that she died 2 years before and she is working with Katherine. 

The ending of the series is really emotional. The afterlife of Damon, Elena, and Stefan. Everyone has found their peace and on that note, the series ended. 

I know there are many reviews on The Vampire Diaries, But I just wanted to add mine also. As I didn't write much because there were a lot of things in just one episode. But I hope before you want to start this information will create interest in you and you will watch the Awesome, Fabulous series.
